A small, sleepy town in an American provincial wasteland. The local bar spews smoke from all the porous holes in the facade - the heat hits you in the face, you take refuge in the bar on the corner and fall into a nocturnal maelstrom - the figures seem apathetic, times distant. “Sir” Oliver Mally sits on stage and plays the blues that no one suspects but everyone is looking for. “Sir” Oliver Mally is without question one of the representatives of the “best blues in Europe” (Concerto).

His rough, convention-free music is a pure extract of the blues essence. Inhaling it gives you a lifetime blast like absinthe. His albums have been internationally reviewed with praise. The “best blues singer in the country” (Samir H. Köck, “Die Presse”) is always on tour anyway – between Hamburg and Budapest, Graz and Waidhofen an der Thaya, but also occasionally at the Himalayan Blues Festival in Nepal. “Amadeus” nominations and thirteen category trophies in the critics’ poll of “Concerto” magazine and a prize from the German BLUES NEWS magazine (best album of the year) don’t have much room in your luggage, but his instrument is indispensable. “He still plays his guitar himself, he sings with dedication, heart and soul, he feels himself,” summed up the “Oberösterreichische Nachrichten”. A “bluesesquer” stroke of genius personified, that is Oliver Mally.

In 2011 he was voted one of the “Top 5 Vocalists International” by the English magazine BLUES MATTERS. In March 2019, “DEVIL’S GONE FISHING” was chosen by the “ISC” in the USA as one of the best 16 blues songs of 2018. The jury included Tom Waits, John Mayall, Walter Trout... In July 2021, his album “TRYIN’ TO GET BY” will be nominated for the “GERMAN RECORD CRITICS PRIZE”!
