Via ferrata fans get their money's worth in Hinterstoder: the varied via ferrata on the Poppenberg (B/C) with fantastic views of the Stodertal valley is a great place to start. The Stodertal via ferrata (B) on the Spitzmauer is already very alpine - albeit rather short and crisp. However, the difficult ascent to the highest peak in the Totes Gebirge, the Großer Priel (2,515m), via the longest via ferrata in Austria, the Priel via ferrata (C/D), is the real highlight.
