With the collegiate church, important artists of the Austrian baroque created a total work of art full of astonishing harmony. Domenico Antonio Carlone decorated the interior of the church with its calm color scheme and with wonderful stucco pilasters. The frescoes by Bartolomeo Altomonte in the presbytery are a highlight of Baroque church painting in Upper Austria. The grille made by Andreas Ferdinand Lindermayr is considered to be one of the most beautiful ironwork in Austria. A sense of art and faith have made our house of God rise so splendidly.
North of the church in the so-called "Dechantstöckel" is the treasury of the former Spital Abbey. Documents, vestments and liturgical implements were kept in it. Now particularly valuable sculptures, vestments and also historically significant documents relating to the monastery and the two churches can be viewed in the treasury.
The crypt under the presbytery of the collegiate church was the burial place of the canons of Spital am Pyhrn. From January 25 to May 15, 1945, the entire gold treasure of the Hungarian National Bank (33,000 kg) was stored here. In 1992 the crypt was restored.
