Three alpine men's World Cup races in Hinterstoder

The men's giant slalom returned by France to the International Ski Association (cancellation in Val d'Isère) will be made up for in Austria as part of the FIS Ski World Cup Hinterstoder 2020. Today the FIS, the ÖSV, the ORF and the organizing committee in Hinterstoder have agreed to retrofit the giant slalom in Val d’Isère on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 in Hinterstoder.

In close coordination with the above-mentioned institutions, it was possible to create the conditions for taking over another men's race within a very short time. The ORF had to clarify the TV production and the ÖSV association management had to ensure the necessary financing in cooperation with the OK Hinterstoder and the state of Upper Austria. As ÖSV President Peter Schröcksnadel explained, sport is an absolute priority for him and therefore there is full support in such situations.

This also results in changes in the racing program. The Alpine combination planned for Sunday is already taking place on Friday (February 28th). Saturday and Sunday will be followed by the Super-G and the men's giant slalom.
