Picture book weather, almost 50,000 fans, excellent atmosphere, a two-day party and two sensational Austrian victories made the AUDI FIS Ski World Cup races in Hinterstoder on the 5th and 6th of February 2011 a true ski festival.

It was for the working group SC Raika Hinterstoder / WSV Windischgarsten the hoped success and thus another exclamation point in the ski world from the picturesque community in the south of Upper Austria. The men's races on Saturday (RTL) and Sunday (SG) were an absolute crowd puller and above all a great success for the ÖSV men. On Saturday Hannes Reichelt triumphed in the Super-G, so on Sunday Philipp Schörghofer was unbeatable at the Hannes Trinkl World Cup.

Following the weather-related relocation of the races in 2006 from the valley to the Höss middle station, the center of Hinterstoder was also the decisive part of the event weekend for the first time after the races on the new World Cup track in Hinterstoder.

On the days of the race, spring-like picture book weather ensured record-breaking visits. 23,500 visitors at the Super-G and on race Sunday another 20,500 guests transformed the target area into a red-white-red sea of ​​flags.
Pure party mood was of course given after the first race day with Reichelt's victory, second place by long-time favorite Benni Raich and US bronze by Bode Miller. 3,000 fans celebrated the winners until the early hours of the morning and thus a great, peaceful ski festival.

Not enough of the successes with Philipp Schörghofer in the giant slalom an Austrian for the day's victory. Second place for Norway's Kjetil Jansrud and third place for Switzerland talent Carlo Janka also provided the necessary international headlines around Hinterstoder.

The Hinterstoder can continue to play in the circle of World Cup organizers, was impressively demonstrated on the two days and with Upper Austria was a whole state behind the snow spectacle in Stodertal.
