The Adventure Mountain Wurbauerkogel in Windischgarsten offers fun, game and excitement all in one! The chair lift takes you up to the mountain station where lovely local meals are served at the Bergrestaurant. The glass Panorama Tower impresses with views to the surrounding alpine scenery – including 21 mountain peaks with over 2000m of height – and an exciting exhibition on the Kalkalpen National Park. For more fun enjoy the Alpine Coaster which operates in all weather conditions and leads along twisting tracks and over bumbs at high speeds. Speaking of Karacho: Even in the newly built bike park at the Wurbauerkogel you can let the driving wind whistle really around the ears. Three mountain bike trails - a flowtrail (easy), a freeride track (medium) and a downhill track (difficult) - are available for this. If you prefer to walk through the undergrowth with an arrow and bow, the chamois, the wolf and the bear are targeted at the 3D sheet parcours. On the other hand, climbing climbers climb up in the climbing park Bannholzmauer. The distinctive Felsturm towering at the foot of the Wurbauerkogel, offers four fixed rope routes in difficulty levels A / B to D / E.

Culture deluxe

The Kulturhaus Römerfeld in Windischgarsten – a multi functional event hall – is the cultural meeting point of the area on the one hand, and a popular event centre for meetings and congresses on the other. During the winter months you can dance the night away as the premises transform into a ball room. Above that traditional annual events like the “Lederhosen” get-together are highlights in the yearly calender not to be missed.

"UNESCO Cultural Heritage Niglo Moving"

Every year on 5 December mysterious figures gather in Windischgarsten. They are getting ready for the Niglo move, which is only available here. This exclusivity gave the activity described for the first time more than 150 years ago an entry into the list of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. Many of the participating figures and their traditional costumes and masks can only be found here in the Garstnertal Valley. Looking for something special? Sporty Windischgarsten

From outdoor or indoor pools, soccer fields or beach volleyball courts, skater park, tennis courts, rock climbin, paragliding or hang-gliding – there is lots to keep you fit. During winter there are cross country trails, ice skating rinks and ice curling tracks or simply explore the nearby ski areas.

Vibey night life…

In Windischgarsten you will find vibey night life in the various pubs and dance clubs. Especially the music bar „Monte“ or the dance club „Tanzcafé Mayr“ are popular meeting places for the younger generations and those still young enough to dance the night away.
