Exhibition "Fascination Rock" in the Panorama Tower National Park with free audio guide in German - English - Czech: The focus of the exhibition is on the extraordinary and remarkable from the animal and plant world above the tree line. At interactive stations you will learn why there are more butterflies in the Kalkalpen National Park than in any other protected area in Austria and how the mountain forest will change as a result of climate change. The viewing terrace of the 21 meter high tower offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountain panorama of the Windischgarstner valley: Dead Mountains, Haller Walls and Sengsengebirge almost to touch.
Hint / Advice:
- Comfortable with the panoramic lift to the viewing terrace. With good visibility, 21 2000m peaks can be seen!
- Starting point for hikes in the Kalkalpen National Park. Start/finish themed trail "Nature Tracks" leads to the National Park Lodge Villa Sonnwend.
Summer opening times:
- April 29 to June 30, 2023 from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
- July 1 to September 10, 2023 from Monday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m
- 11 September to 1 October 2023 from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
- 2 October to 1 November 2023 from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed on Mondays!)
- Groups of 15 or more can also visit the panorama tower outside of the opening hours by prior arrangement!

Accessibility / arrivalA9 - Roßleithen exit - B138 in the direction of Windischgarsten - town center - turn off at the municipal office to the Bergbahn car park. The "arrival" to the 858m high Wurbauerkogel is easiest with the chair lift, on foot on marked hiking trails (walking time approx. 3/4 hours, almost 250 meters in altitude), by bike or car.
