Hiking Lake Gleinkersee is also the ideal starting point for many hikes. Whether you embark on a hike to the Dümlerhütte alpine hut, to the peak of the Seespitz or Warscheneck mountain, the Wurzeralm pastures or simply on an easy walk around the lake or further on to the Pießling-Spring. Where noble crayfish still lives The indigenous noble or European crayfish is practically extinct in Austria. The impressive animal with its total length of up to 20 cm can only be found in few waters. The Lake Gleinkersee offers an ideal retreat for the strictly protected noble crayfish , as it needs highest water quality as living condition.
