The Alpineum as a modern, award-winning exhibition house is worth a visit in every season. Here you will find background information on the past of the Stodertal, the life-threatening work of the Holzknechte, the alpine development history of the Totes Gebirge and the development of skiing from its beginnings to today's World Cup.
The modern museum building - built in 1998 - already suggests from the outside that here no dusty "Heimatmuseum" is waiting for the visitor, but historical and current videos, acoustic effects .
Creating connections from the past to the present is the basic concept of the Alpineum with its extremely extensive collection of historical and contemporary exhibits. In an entertaining manner, the past comes to life through entertaining, exciting text and image design and becomes an experience for the visitor. Let yourself be surprised.

ALPINE EYE-VIEWS
On the tracks of E.T. Compton
Photography and painting by Michael Zacek
Michael Zacek captures the archaic effect of nature in an atmospheric and technically sophisticated way. He explores all of the motifs shown himself and initially captures the mountain world with his camera. The three-dimensionality is regained through intensive reworking with a strong application of structure and colour. The resulting spatial "real view" gives his works a deep and lively effect.
On the occasion of the 175th anniversary of E.T. Compton's birth, Michael Zacek follows the traces and motifs of the Alpine painter.
