The impressive mountain giants of the Dead Mountains form the breathtaking backdrop for Upper Austria's only World Cup ski area, the Höss in Hinterstoder. Quickly accessible via a direct motorway connection in the heart of the Pyhrn-Priel holiday region, there is a world of slopes that has something to offer for every type of skier. Since 2022/2023 there has been a new, state-of-the-art 10-seater Hössbahn with a new location in the large cable car car park and increased transport capacity.
The Hinterstoder ski area reaches up to 2,000 meters above sea level and offers winter sports enthusiasts a particularly high level of snow security on 40 kilometers of varied slopes.
Extensive panoramic slopes with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains ensure pure winter enjoyment. The World Cup course, named after downhill skiing world champion Hannes Trinkl from St. Pankraz, with a length of 3,500 meters, a maximum gradient of 60 percent and a width of up to 80 meters, represents a challenge for the top athletes of international skiing and also gives amateur athletes that World Cup feeling come up. Other highlights are the Inferno piste with a gradient of up to 70%, the SNOWtrail, which promises lots of fun and action with its mogul run and steep curves, a speed run and a permanent race run with timekeeping. Families with children will find numerous attractions for the little ones in Hinterstoder. The Sunny Kids Park has practice lifts, a ski carousel, people movers and wave runs. The new, ultra-modern 10-seater Hössbahn with a new location in the large cable car car park and increased transport capacity increases skiing fun.
