Interesting facts about managed alpine pastures and huts in the Pyhrn-Priel holiday region

Managed huts and mountain pastures are mountain huts that are open during the season and where you can stop for refreshments and rest. They often offer hearty cuisine with regional products and a cosy atmosphere.
You can also spend the night in many huts and set off on a mountain tour the next day.

  • Equipment: Sleeping bag, sleeping mat and headlamp are often required.
  • Catering: Enquire in advance whether half board or full board is offered.
  • Rest period in the hut: Night-time rest is usually from 10 pm.
  • Cash: In many huts you can only pay in cash.

Yes, especially in the high season it is advisable to book your overnight stay in good time, as places are limited.

For families with children, shorter hikes to mountain pastures with playgrounds or animals are ideal. The Gowilalm and the Puglalm, for example, are very family-friendly.
