Give yourself mountains

In the Pyhrn-Priel Holiday Region you can get very close to Upper Austria's untamed mountain world.

You guessed it: we used to be really backwoods. Our poachers made rich pickings. The fact that we are a little hidden has preserved our uniqueness and our cultural heritage. Today we are proud of our thickly snow-covered forests in the national park, of the abundant bubbling springs, the lively streams in white rock beds, the lofty peaks high above gentian-covered meadows. We can say thank you that all this has remained for us - intact and precious.

Hiking, mountaineering, golfing, cycling, skiing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, Maypole scrambling, harvest celebrations or simply pausing for breath: In the Pyhrn-Priel region in southern Upper Austria you will understand what it means to be in the jewel of the Alps.
