the Ennskraft
Ennskraftwerke AG (Ennskraft) was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Steyr. The company is a 50 per cent stake in Verbund AG and Energie AG Upper Austria. Ennskraft operates a total of 14 hydropower plants, twelve of which are on the Enns and two on the Steyr. So that it uses the natural water resources of a catchment area of 6080 square kilometers, is one of the wettest regions of Austria, to obtain electric power from renewable clean hydropower. After the power plant construction today are operating, management, maintenance and ongoing modernization and optimization of the power plants, taking into account the latest technical and ecological knowledge in the center of the tasks of Ennskraft.
The Ennskraft provides the power and energy generated at Verbund AG Upper Austria and the Austrian Federal Railways.
With an average annual total production of about 1.860 million kilowatt hours Ennskraft one of the largest Austrian producer of hydro electric power.
