Visit the Jew's Harp Manufacturer and discover how this traditional musical instrument, which has been hand-made since the 16th century, is produced.
In the most remote places in the world, e.g. Papua New Guinea, Burma or Japan, Jew's harps from Molln are played. As well as seeing how the instrument is made, you will also learn how to play it and you will be surprised at the sounds you can make on the Jew's harp. Listen to the Asian sounds of Southeast-Asien, Sibirien, Papua-Neuguinea on a Jew`s Harp made of bamboo – a unique experience!
The family-run Wimmer Factory was founded in 1770. The production site provides the visitor with insights into the Jew´s Harp production, its history and the tradition of Jew´s Harp playing in many other countries and cultures worldwide.
Get to know everything about this unique and quit legendary music instrument. On request, visitors can try themselves to shape their own mouth organ.
