In the footsteps of Marlen Haushofer

Little Meta, the yellow house by the stream, the mountain meadow - "the most beautiful place in the world". Our ranger Erni Kirchweger takes you into the world of the writer Marlen Haushofer

We walk along her former school route from Frauenstein church to Marlen's birthplace in Effertsbach, where Erni now lives with her family. With the help of passages from her books, we feel how Marlen drew strength for her life from her childhood in the freedom of nature. We gain an insight into her family history and her life as an adult woman. If you've got a taste for reading Haushofer, here are three book tips from Erni: "Brav sein ist schwer" (children's book); "Himmel, der nirgendwo endet"; "Die Wand";
This tour is also suitable for school classes. The educational approach to the writer, her world and her works is done in a playful way according to the age and the group.

Prerequisites: The guided tours on the fixed dates are reserved for private individuals. Groups of 10 or more people, companies, schools or other organizations are requested to contact the respective visitor center.
