World Heritage Tour: Through the Hintergebirge - National Park Kalkalpen Ranger tours

Hike with us the only world natural heritage in Austria! The natural beech forests in the Kalkalpen National Park are so extraordinary because there are only a few remains in Europe: 85 percent of the original red beech forests have been cut down. In the Kalkalpen National Park and in the Dürrenstein wilderness area, these valuable old beech forests were recognized by UNESCO as Austria's first world natural heritage site.

• Equipment: sturdy shoes, weatherproof clothing, snack and drink, camera recommended, hiking sticks if necessary
