The Klosterkäserei of the Stift Schlierbach was founded in 1924 and today is the market leader in the production of soft cheese with red culture in Austria.

Since 1995, the dairy has been giving an insight into cheese production and agriculture through the first Danish dairy. Since 1999, biocase varieties have also been produced in the Stiftskäserei. With the realization of the Schlierbacher Genusszentrum a new epoch began in the 80-year successful history of the Klosterkäserei.

The pleasure center was conceived as a complementary contrast to the historical architecture of the baroque monastery. The transparent building is inviting and friendly to its visitors. The project "Genusszentrum" houses seminar rooms, a cheese shop and plenty of space for exhibitions. You can also enjoy cooking performances in the future as entertainment. Top chefs reveal their secrets and look at their fingers. Enjoy not only with the palate, but also with eye and ear cooking culture at its finest.

The original "Schlierbacher" is the oldest cheese variety, produced since 1924 without interruption. These are surface-ripened soft cheeses with red culture.

Program:
During the visit, we will show you the Bernardisaal, the library, the church of the convent, the cloister and the Madonna of the Schlierbach, the dairy and glass painting gallery and the herb garden.

On request we also offer guided tours in English, French or Dutch.
